Easterseals Project Action is pleased to offer two workshop options on Determining ADA Complementary Paratransit Eligibility. Each option includes 4 half day sessions. You can either register as an individual for one of our scheduled workshops or you can schedule a private training workshop for just your staff. See below for details on both options.

Workshop Description

This virtual workshop provides transit professionals and managers with the information and tools to develop a comprehensive approach to conducting accurate paratransit eligibility determinations. This workshop will provide participants helpful tips and best practices in determining ADA complementary paratransit eligibility. Participants will also receive informational resources on the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements for eligibility determination processes.

Module 2: Developing an Appropriate Process
Module 3: Interview Techniques
Module 4: External Fasct0rs and Setting Appropriate Conditions
Module 5: Interview and Assessments for Applicants with Physical Functional Disabilities
Module 6: Interview and Assessments for Applicants with Cognitive Disabilities
Module 7: Interview and Assessments for Applicants with Vision Disabilities
Module 8: A Framework for Making Difficult Determinations
Module 9: Eligibility Appeals Process

Virtual Workshop Option 1: Individual Registration for Public Workshop

Anyone can sign up for our public virtual workshops. The dates and times for scheduled workshops are below. Organizations can register as many of their staff as they would like. Participants must have individual registrations to participate.

January 2025 Workshop

Dates: January 7, 11, 21, and 28, 2025
Time: 11:00am–3:00pm ET/10:00am-2:00pm CT/9:00am-1:00pm MT/8:00am-12:00pm PT

Registration Fee: $500 (Payment must be made by credit card)

Registration Deadline – Registration will close for this workshop when 20 participants have registered or on Friday, January 3, 2025,  whichever occurs first.

*NOTE: The workshop will occur on each Tuesday in January 2025.

March 2025 Workshop

Dates: March 4, 11, 18, and 25, 2025
Time: 11:00am–3:00pm ET/10:00am-2:00pm CT/9:00am-1:00pm MT/8:00am-12:00pm PT

Registration Fee: $500 (Payment must be made by credit card)

Registration Deadline – Registration will close for this workshop when 20 participants have registered or on Friday, February 28, 2025,  whichever occurs first.

*NOTE: The workshop will occur on each Tuesday in March 2025.

 

NOTE: A minimum of 9 registrants is required. If we have not reached 9 registrants by one week before the first session, we will cancel the workshop and refund your registration fee. Workshop registration will be capped at 20 participants. No refunds or make-up sessions will be offered for those that miss sessions. You will not receive a completion certificate unless you participate in the entire workshop. Participants must have access to the internet and the ability to access Zoom to participate.

 

Virtual Workshop Option 2: Private

Easterseals Project Action is pleased to offer the workshop privately to your staff. A minimum of 4 participants are required, but you may have up to 20 participants in any one workshop. As this is a private workshop, the content can be tailored to your specific needs, concerns, and questions. Easterseals will work with you to schedule the sessions in a way that works for you. NOTE: Payment must be made by credit card, purchase order, or via invoice and check payment. The workshops will not be recorded. Participants will not receive a completion certificate unless they participate in the entire workshop. Participants must have access to the internet and the ability to access Zoom to participate.
