Easterseals Project Action is pleased to offer three workshop options on Sensitivity Training for Bus Operators. You can either register as an individual for one of our scheduled workshops. OR you can schedule a private training workshop for just your staff. See below for details on both options.

Workshop Description

This 4-hour virtual workshop aims to educate bus drivers on appropriate behavior and communication with people with disabilities. The workshop covers various topics including assisting difficult customers, driver assistance and the ADA, service animals, effective communication, and disability awareness and sensitivity. This workshop is appropriate both for fixed-route and demand responsive bus operators.

Virtual Workshop Option 1: Individual Registration for Public Workshop

Anyone can sign up for our public virtual workshops. The dates and times for scheduled workshops are below. Organizations can register as many of their staff as they would like. Every participant must register individually and pay a registration fee.

December 2024 Workshop

Date: Tuesday, December 10, 2024
Time: 11:00am–3:00pm ET/10:00am-2:00pm CT/9:00am-1:00pm MT/8:00am-12:00pm PT

Registration Fee: $100 (Payment must be made by credit card)

Registration Deadline – Registration will close for this workshop when 20 participants have registered or on Friday, December 6, 2024,  whichever occurs first.

February 2025 Workshop

Date: Thursday, February 20, 2025
Time: 11:00am–3:00pm ET/10:00am-2:00pm CT/9:00am-1:00pm MT/8:00am-12:00pm PT

Registration Fee: $100 (Payment must be made by credit card)

Registration Deadline – Registration will close for this workshop when 20 participants have registered or on Tuesday, February 18, 2025,  whichever occurs first.

April 2025 Workshop

Date: Tuesday, April 15, 2025
Time: 11:00am–3:00pm ET/10:00am-2:00pm CT/9:00am-1:00pm MT/8:00am-12:00pm PT

Registration Fee: $100 (Payment must be made by credit card)

Registration Deadline – Registration will close for this workshop when 20 participants have registered or on Friday, April 11, 2025,  whichever occurs first.

 

NOTE: A minimum of 10 registrants is required. If we have not reached 10 registrants by one week before the workshop, it will be cancelled and you will received a refund for your registration fee. Workshop registration will be capped at 30 participants. No refunds or make-up sessions will be offered for those that miss sessions. You will not receive a completion certificate unless you participate in the entire workshop. Participants must have access to the internet and the ability to access zoom to participate.

 

Virtual Workshop Option 2: Private

Easterseals Project Action is pleased to offer the workshop privately to your staff. A minimum of 4 participants are required, but you may have up to 30 participants in any one workshop. Easterseals will work with you to schedule the sessions in a way that works for you, even on weekends if needed. Email Easterseals Project Action for with any questions.

NOTE: Payment must be made by credit card, purchase order, or via invoice and check payment. The workshop will not be recorded. Participants will not receive a completion certificate unless they participate in the entire workshop. Participants must have access to the internet and the ability to access Zoom to participate.

 

In-Person Workshop Option 3: Private

Easterseals Project Action is pleased to offer the workshop in-person and privately to your staff. A minimum of 4 participants are required, but you may have up to 30 participants in any one workshop. Easterseals will work with you to schedule the sessions in a way that works for you, even on weekends if needed. Workshop materials must be printed by the host agency. Email Easterseals Project Action with any questions.

NOTE: Payment must be made by credit card, purchase order, or via invoice and check payment. Participants will not receive a completion certificate unless they participate in the entire workshop. Pricing will include travel expenses, travel time, and instruction time for the instructor.
